When the Season Ends, Is it the End of an Era?
It’s the end of the season and I always wonder if this is the real end. We went to the drive-in tonight with our girls for the last showing of the season. We don’t get to go very often because they don’t show many G or acceptable PG movies. Tonight we saw Igor.
For us, the movie is a part of it but the whole is the total experience. Eating dinner in the car. We load up with pillows and blankets and spending some family time together. The kids can run around a bit before the movie and they like to “swing” around the old speaker posts.
We live in a state that just started to follow day light savings. It affected the drive-in theater because movies had to start an hour later to get it dark enough to see the movies. At that time of the change, we almost lost our drive-in theater. They are trying to make a go of it. We try to support them when we can, like I said, when the movies are appropriate for our children.
So tonight was the end of the season and driving home I had to wonder, was it the end of the drive-in or will we see them again next season? I hope so.
Here is the drive-in we attend:

Wow, yeah. I can’t remember the last G movie. Hang in there. Where are you from? I’m in NY.
